Who this day is for
This workshop is intended for adults who already recognise a candlestick chart but feel uncertain about how to use moving averages consistently. It suits self-directed market students, finance learners, and professionals who want a disciplined review habit. It is not suitable for anyone seeking tips, managed trading, or guaranteed returns.
The work on the table
We begin by calculating and comparing simple and exponential moving averages. Participants then mark slope, price position, separation, compression, and crossover on printed charts. The central question is not “Will price rise?” but “What evidence would make this chart qualify as trending under the rule we wrote?”
The afternoon introduces a higher-timeframe filter. You will classify historical examples, identify whipsaws in ranges, and examine how changing lookback length changes delay. Every exercise ends with a short written observation, so a visual impression becomes a rule another person could follow.
What is included
- A bound workbook with unlabelled and annotated chart sets
- Pencil-and-paper moving average exercises
- A trend-regime checklist and review journal template
- Instructor feedback during two classification rounds
- Tea, coffee, and a short lunch break
- A digital copy of the blank practice sheets after the session
Broker access, live trade calls, individual portfolio advice, tax guidance, and claims about future performance are expressly excluded.
The day’s sequence
We spend the first 90 minutes on construction and lag. The second block compares trend and range conditions. After the break, pairs test one rule against mixed historical charts without knowing the later price path. The final block is reserved for revising each rule and defining invalidation, review frequency, and a practice routine.
Preparation and constraints
Bring a pencil and, if useful, reading glasses. Laptops are optional; the core work is printed so notifications do not interrupt comparison. Do not bring confidential account statements. Examples are educational and selected after the fact, which creates hindsight bias; we discuss that limitation directly.
Provider and next step
Sessions are led by Cloud Beaconcore’s training facilitator, whose role is to teach chart interpretation and challenge vague reasoning—not to recommend positions. Use the enquiry form to share your experience level and preferred month. We confirm available dates and accessibility needs before requesting payment.
